About us
Thirstygallerina is New York City’s most comprehensive fine art event listing and a cultural disruptor since the creation of its Instagram account in November 2018.
Thirstygallerina is anonymously run by two art world professionals and women of color who are passionate about breaking down the barriers of the elusive art world. By revealing the culture capital’s great tradition of gallery hopping to those outside the art community, Thirstygallerina strives to democratize the “white walls” of the gallery and empower a new generation of New Yorkers to learn about, engage with, and collect art.
Thirstygallerina's recognition as a vital tool and resource is a view shared by their over 120k combined social media following, which includes artists, gallerists, collectors, celebrities, art enthusiasts, and art world novices. Their contributions to New York City’s local art scene have also made rounds in online art columns such as Culture Mag and Artnet News. With previous highlights of venue takeovers, as well as art fair and gallery event sponsorships, Thirstygallerina looks to continuously push the boundaries of their impact.
